MBTI: Which Personality Type Are You?

“God! Why is he so uptight?”

“No! He’s not uptight, he’s just a little reserved and shy around new people.”

Several times each day, we are judging the people around us. Whether we do it knowingly (consciously) or unknowingly (sub/unconsciously), we’re doing it all the time.

We wonder why people act in certain ways. We wonder what personality trait causes someone to behave in one way, and someone else to behave differently. We keep thinking why people say what they say and do what they do.

This isn’t a new concept. It has been happening for centuries and that is why various psychologists proposed personality theories. By being able to measure personality traits and types, it became easier for us to make sense of the humans around us.

One such measurement is the MBTI.

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator, also known as the MBTI, is tool for measuring personality that considers two extremes on four different parameters.

    The parameters are:

Mind (attitude): Extraverted (expressive) or Introverted (reserved): E or I

Energy (function): Sensing (observant) or Intuitive (introspective): S or N

Nature (function): Thinking (tough-minded) or Feeling (friendly): T or F

Tactics (lifestyle preference): Judging (scheduling) or Perceiving (probing): J or P
