    Places Modi Should Visit…ED Style

    June 16, 2015

With our beloved Prime Minister having travelled almost half of the world in the past one year, he has for sure been successful in making India visible more prominently on the world map. From the Madison Garden in the USA to hugs and kissed with the Australian PM at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, he has travelled to places which had been left bereft of Indian PM’s in the past. The planned visit to Israel, continues this suit. At the same time, there have been requests from the opposition to Home Affairs Ministry, asking for a visa for the PM to visit the Parliament itself.

ED takes a look at all those places where we would like Mr. Modi to go, going forward.

    1. Lodi Garden

Prime Minister’s love for Yoga, getting up early in the morning is a secret to none. In fact, he went out of his way at the UN to ensure that the world celebrates 21st June as World Yoga Day. All this and his love for track suits makes him perfect fodder for an early morning visit to the Lodi Garden. Networking time too, I guess.

    2. Qutub Minar

Admit it, we all want that one photo-op like Xi Jinping had with his wife at the Ahmedabad beach front. But hey, what place better than Qutub Minar for us Indians to express our love. Narendra <3 _______Graffiti artists.

    3. Chandni Chowk

The dingy, dusty by lanes of Chandini Chowk have been a major tourist attraction for people from all walks of life. Heck, even us Dilliwalas pride ourselves in regular visits to C-Chowk. Pity he is a vegan, for all the Kormas and Tikkas near the Jama Masjid are to die for. Plus, that place might just get a much needed facelift after the PM’s visit.

    4. Parathe Wali Gali

Close to the Chandini Chowk, yet this place deserves a special mention, simply for its heritage and grandeur. The Parathe wali gali with its kaddu and kela parathas, is one for an adventurous foodie. Time for some gastronomical strumming for our very own PM.

    5. Sarojini Nagar Market.

One place for bargains, brands, food and almost everything else under the sun, it would be interesting to gauge what he chooses after that Rs. 10 Cr, Narcissist suit that he wore. “Shukla Ji ke Kachre wale Samose”, and “Chotu Bhaiya Paan Shops” are the two places he must visit. That is, if he does not want to buy scarves. For that, visit every other shop.

    6. Palika Bazaar

We all know how lonely it can be on the top. And as much as Mr. Modi might try to occupy himself with work, agony aunt suggests a trip to Palika market. He can get football jerseys if he wants, trying to jump on the FIFA bandwagon, but more importantly he can get the “DIGITAL INDIA” CD’s.

    7. Sunburn Arena, Gurgaon.

The rockstar of the Madison Garden, and the mind blowing speeches at the Ramlila Maidan, only place left for him to truly stamp his super star, larger than life persona, is in fact the place where we all throng to watch international musicians play! So, go Modi!

    8. Parliament. While this might seem rhetorical, the opposition parties do have a point here. And hey, we complete a writer’s full circle with this. So why not!
