    In Sports, history is made every day. Here are the top stories of the past week:

    » Indian vs South Africa 1-2 in 5 match cricket series

    » Pune on top of Indian Super League table

    » PV Sindhu loses final of Denmark Open

     

    Cricket: Finally a victory for the Indian team. This win came in the 2nd ODI against South Africa and was a big relief to fans all over the country. With the win, India levelled the 5 match series at 1 match apiece. But alas! The joy was short-lived. The team suffered yet another defeat in the 3rd match of the series and their hopes of winning it are now hanging by a string, as they enter a do-or-die situation.

    Football: The Indian Super League started this month and currently, Pune City is on the top of the table with 9 points from 4 games. Delhi Dynamos, also with 9 points, is currently at the 2nd spot. They are followed by defending champions Atletico de Kolkata and Goa, both with 7 points each.

    Badminton: PV Sindhu, on a dream run reached the final of the Denmark Open Superseries, beating World Champion Carolina Marin in the semi-finals. In the final, however, unfortunately she succumbed to her opponent, Li Xeurui, losing in straight sets. Top seed Saina Nehwal crashed out of the open early on when she suffered a shock defeat in the second round of the Open.
