It’s that time of the year when all the colleges in New Delhi start off with their various cultural fests but Hansraj College is here to provide a different “flavour” to the scenario with its one-of-a-kind fests, The Hansraj Food Festival 2016.
Yes. The college has taken a bold step with its Culinary Arts Society now bringing in a brilliant range of different cuisines under one roof and giving the ultimate experience of a food-gasm to the college students via this Food Festival.
Their aim is to celebrate the diversity of food in India and therefore the society has brought all kinds of caterers from the top notch cafes to favourite local street stalls to serve the biggest crowd ever seen in college via this food festival.
The event is destined to become one of Delhi’s (or at least within the DU circuit) principal cultural events with shows presented by the college’s music and dance societies and a theme based photo booth.
Everything from North Indian cuisine to South Indian delicacies, Chinese, Continental, Deserts, Beverages, North Eastern specialties and delicious Western dishes, this food festival has it all and much more!
And if that’s not enough, renowned chef Marchinda Kasture will be in the college premises as the chief guest for the food festival.
He’s a former executive chef at Rashtrapati Bhawan, where has put his skill to use by cooking for former president Smt. Pratibha Patil and and our current president, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
Being the chef to the head of the state, he’s a member of Le Club Des Chefs Des Chefs, a club that brings together the chef’s of the head of the states from all across the world.
And as for the attendees, it doesn’t stop here. The college has especially organised a “Taco Challenge” at the Food Festival for the people where they have to create a dish from tacos but without using any sort of fire to cook that dish.
And guess what? The top 3 of this competition get to have some amazing food for free by none other than Chef Nitin Pal Singh!
So, take out loose jeans and get ready to devour some amazing food at the Hansraj Food Festival 2016.
Entry is open to all the college students with a valid college ID card and the date is 7th October, 2016!
See you there!
